Medical emergency: if you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Do not use this contact form for urgent concerns — it is not monitored around the clock, and messages sent after hours are reviewed on the next business day. Current patients with an urgent post-procedure concern should call (877) 836-1551 and follow the prompts.

Information on this page is general education and does not constitute medical advice or establish a physician-patient relationship. Individual results vary. Treatment decisions require an in-person examination.

Before you reach out

Contacting the office — common questions.

Is Dr. Tortland accepting new patients?

Yes. New patients are seen for osteoarthritis, chronic tendon and ligament injury, and nerve entrapment. No referral is required, though we are glad to coordinate with your primary care physician, orthopedist or physical therapist. Patients travel to Glastonbury from across New England and from out of state.

What is the fastest way to schedule?

Calling (877) 836-1551 during office hours — Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. — confirms a date on the spot. Requests sent through the form on this page are answered within one business day.

What should I bring to the first visit?

Any MRI, X-ray or ultrasound from the last two years — the actual images on disc or portal access, not only the written report — plus a list of prior injections, surgeries and current medications. Bringing a spouse or family member is encouraged. Wear clothing that gives easy access to the joint in question.

Ready to find out what is actually wrong?

Candidacy is determined on ultrasound, not over the phone. Bring your imaging and get an honest answer in one visit.
